When the COVID-19 pandemic struck in 2020, the country entered into a lockdown to limit the spread of the virus.  Our streets and public spaces became deserted, local businesses struggled to stay open and public services were stretched to extremes.  In an effort to reassure and drive home the importance ‘isolating’, government ministers gave a daily television briefing where updated statistics and updated instructions were disseminated.  

This work explores the contrasts between these centralised broadcasts and the experiences of a small town through image and text.
